Charles Dickens is one of the most appreciated Victorian writers, his novels gaining worldwide recognition by both critics and readers. First published in 1850, David Copperfield begins with avid the tragedy of David's brother dying when David is just a boy. After this episode he is sent by his step-father to work in London for a wine merchant. When conditions worsen he decides to run away and embarks on a journey by foot from London to Dover. On his arrival he finds his eccentric aunt, Betsey Trotwood who becomes his new guardian. Being witness to the formation of David's character is quite fascinating. David begins as a strong child whose only aspiration is a better life. On the way to his adulthood, David sees how people enter and leave his life. Romanticism takes its place in David’s life as he gets married to Dora Spenlow who is not long for this world. Will David ever find stability and happyness? And what of his wife? Dickens proves to be a master in creating an autobiographical work that is a captivating page-turner.
Brilliant narration by Tadhg Hynes. He really brings the characters to life. The book itself is one of Dickens best, even if the original could have benefitted from some closer editing in some of the longer passages.
Charles Dickens best story ever. Best narrator for the story. Have listen to this story four times all ready. Love it and David Copperfield!
The narrator, Tadhg Hynes (this is the correct spelling I think) is incredible. He is true to the book, pulls in the individual voices, and is a delight to listen to.
This is an excellent narration.
By far the best narrator I have ever heard! I could listen to him forever.

Absolutely brilliant narrator made you want to listen
Hats off to the narrator. He brought the book to life.
I have listened through almost all the Dickens novels and I am telling you now, Tige Hines (however it is spelt) is head and shoulders above all the other narrators. I must admit that I found David Copperfield a rather confusing and long-winded book, but Tige makes it so easy to listen to that he captivates. His speed, diction, pronunciation, everything is spot on. Well done Sir!!
Good book; outstanding narration.
